Directed by Pete Gomes
Drop was shot in Cornwall on a beach in 1996 over the period of about three hours. The film was made silent and remained so until 1999 when I heard the piece of music 'Harmonic'. The music fit exactly to the time of the film. There was no additional editing or adjustment.

A mixture of single frame and manipulation of the lens and sunlight.

'Drop' was one of series of films that were shot entirely in camera on super-8 on each using one 50ft roll. The film was completed at the point the film roll ended.

This was shot using my favourite Super 8 camera, not the most robust.. Sankyo XL 420, later works are all shot on the Sankyo XL 620 Supertronic.
