LECTURE
SERIES
"SIGNAGE
FOR THE INVISIBLE"
How do you
make signage for the invisible?
Mobile computer
technologies increasingly effect our sense of space and delineate
the landscape via signal availability, locative media and information,
none of which we can actually see.
How do we
know what is there if we cannot use our eyes?
My recent
chalk drawings are imagined urban augmentations, stemming from
existing physical geometries, and are a temporary visualisation
of invisible signals. This lecture will discuss recent work and
ideas in relation to film, architecture and technologies.
What You See
Is Not What You Get.
The will be
a summary of ideas to date, extending from my last presentation
of work at Tate
Modern in 2003.
The talk will
also include a screening of a number of performance works and
also the film Central Control - including Inside and Out - a geo
cinema documentary in Iceland.
